Mike Ford, MBA
Manager, Data Management Global

Mr. Ford was promoted to Global Manager, Data Management, in January 2007. He provides leadership to the data management staff in the US and UK, determines resource allocations and projections, and develops departmental best practices and process improvements. Ford brings to the role his training as an MBA, experience as a project manager of clinical trials, expertise on advanced electronic data-capture technology, and proficiency as an administrator of trial management software.

Mr. Ford came to Health Decisions in 2000. While at Health Decisions, he has been responsible for managing a global Phase III oncology trial as well as trials of a contraceptive and an HIV vaccine. Before serving as manager, he also served as a CRA on male and female contraceptive trials sponsored by NIH. He has provided technical input for design of study-specific Case Report Forms and worksheets and trained site personnel in the use of Health Decisions' ultra-efficient SmartPen™ data capture system. Mr. Ford's background includes extensive experience in data backup and disaster recovery planning and implementation. Also while at Health Decisions, Mr. Ford has been involved with technology support and with design of the next-generation data management system that is currently in progress.

Mr. Ford received an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2003 and a BA in 1995. He has participated in three continuing education courses on clinical research, including courses on data validation requirements and creating and maintaining trustworthy E-records.
