Gains in Efficiency and Focus with Smart Monitor™
Smart Monitor is a series of tools and processes developed by Health Decisions to free site monitors from tedious, repetitive tasks and allow them to focus on the important functions of managing sites to help achieve study goals of rapid enrollment and accurate data collection and management. The result is a significant cost savings while improving the speed and timeliness of site functioning, including. Sites also prefer this because Smart Monitor reduces their error rate and thus workload, while enabling a far more team-oriented approach between Health Decisions and sites.
Smart Monitor utilizes our electronic tools to effectively monitor a variety of site and study performance measures, without having to visit the site. This enables a more carefully managed study where weak areas get immediate attention and strong spots can be less intensively managed. This adaptive, empowered approach allows considerable savings, since site visits are normally required at half the usual frequency (since we know what is going on without needing to travel to sites) and only half the time onsite.
- Efficiently monitor site activity;
- Quickly analyze and evaluate data quality to keep sites on track and studies on schedule;
- Focus on the site performance issues that need the most attention;
- Reduce the amount of travel for site monitoring and maximize efficiency of time on-site.
Smart Monitor tracks site progress directly from the study website. Use of Smart Monitor reduces the need for multiple site visits by drawing attention to performance issues early, making all sites as productive as possible. This saves time, expense and energy and boosts productivity and efficiency, leading to studies that yield higher-quality data and more timely and accurate assessments of site activity.
Smart Monitor, one of our patented monitoring tools, allows source document verification on a remote site-specific study database. The data file is downloaded onto a monitor's laptop. The monitor can then work online or offline, avoiding unnecessarily tying up electronic or online site resources.
Clinical monitors can sort and review documents rapidly and resolve data queries electronically, a much faster process than shuffling vast numbers of paper CRFs. Upon completion, the monitor uploads the file, synchronizing it with the main study database. As a result, site visits are much more productive. Smart Monitor permits entering manual queries directly, allowing instant resolution.
