Simpler Data Access and Reporting with a Web-based Master Subject Log (Web-MSL™)
Health Decisions' Web-MSL is a web-based application that simplifies the access and reporting process by which study staff enter and modify subject information such as dates of consent and treatment and reasons for screen failure. By simplifying data entry and eliminating outdated tools such as weekly faxes and burdensome paper trails, Web-MSL provides a means of timely data reporting, even before CRFs are submitted. Study staff can constantly update information. Both overhead costs and maintenance tasks are reduced.
Security and Flexibility
Web-MSL works through a secure website with password protection. Authorized personnel from study sites can update subject status as changes occur and enter data into the study database immediately. Visit information is easy to view and edit through the simple interface before CRFs are completed. Web-MSL users with responsibility for multiple sites can select a site from a pull-down list. They can add screening and early discontinuation information for existing subjects as well as edit and view subject information for each study.
Robust Data Integrity
Web-MSL links to the Oracle clinical database and displays each subject's identifying information on all pertinent screens to assure accuracy. The program is fully 21 CRF Part 11 compliant.
Streamlined Information Processing
New information goes straight from a study site into the study database, streamlining information processing and study updates. All entered data is immediately available and ready for reporting. An e-mail automatically notifies study staff when a subject is enrolled. Automatic e-mails also remind sites of the need for updates.
Web-MSL provides real-time information, allowing the user to:
- View data on subjects throughout the study;
- Retrieve subject demographics and treatment information;
- Identify trends and problems and make site-level adjustments as required;
- Integrate clinical database information with the subject log to product subject status reports;
- Compare visit dates with submitted corresponding CRFs;
- Track source document verification;
- Manage investigator payments.
Access to real-time information also improves the efficiency of maintaining, updating and tracking the study subject data throughout the study, enhancing study and site management. Access to information on enrolled subjects aids both strategic and tactical decision-making, resulting in more efficient studies.
