Project Description

Capabilities for Clinical Studies in Osteoporosis

Patient nonadherence to prescribed treatments for osteoporosis is poor because many patients have difficulty tolerating the side effects of available treatments.  Thus, there is a need for new treatments that increase the likelihood of patient adherence. Health Decisions has all the capabilities necessary for conducting successful, efficient osteoporosis trials, including selecting investigational sites that recruit patients effectively and have appropriate and properly calibrated equipment for Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) scans, properly trained and certified staff and experience with Vertebral Fracture Assessment (VFA) and Fracture Risk Assessment Tool (FRAX) calculations.
